Aida Kamišalić Latifić - Slovenian Female Engineer of the Year 2019: ''No one can take your knowledge away from you''
Aida Kamišalić Latifić is a researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics, University of Maribor. She holds a PhD in Computer Science and Informatics and is a member of the Ladies for Informatics initiative in an effort to break stereotypes about male professions. Today, as a member of the Data Technologies Lab, her main focus is on data. Her guiding principle in choosing her career was clear: "I knew that I could make an impact on people's lives and on the development of society through new technologies and the engineering profession."
Aida carries with her an interesting life story. She came to Slovenia as a refugee during the war, when she realised: "They can take everything from you, except your knowledge. That is why I believe that knowledge is the way to success." She says she can be a good role model not only for girls, but also for those who do not come from privileged backgrounds, and encourages them, "With hard work and perseverance, anyone can become an engineer."
Tanja Bivic Plankar - president, Blockchain Alliance Europe
Tanja Bivic Plankar has 12 years of experience in television broadcasting, public speaking and communications. She is now an active member of the regional blockchain community, has participated in numerous blockchain-related media campaigns and is involved in several blockchain technology projects. Since March 2018, she is also the president of Blockchain Alliance Europe. Blockchain Alliance Europe is a non-profit organization that connects companies and legal entities that use or implement blockchain technologies or are a part of the blockchain ecosystem.
CZECH REPUBLIC
Eva Pavlíková - Česko.digital
Eva is the co-founder and current director of Česko.Digital, a community of expert volunteers that has implemented dozens of technical projects since its founding in 2019. Over the last 20 years, she has worked in project manager roles in telecommunications and retail. As a visionary and strategist, she aims to incorporate collaboration and innovation into all of her projects to help drive change, in addition to reaching her goals. Currently, Eva is actively driving digital government projects. Last, but not least, she is a mother of two lovely boys, who enjoys listening to classical music and practicing yoga.
Eva Nečasová - AI for Children
She is an active creator focusing on various fields from designing lighting objects or jewelry to developing video games, lettering comics, illustration, photography and defining the visual identity of a brand.
Her passion is in connecting textile crafts with technologies in interactive installations. She recently founded the AI for Children initiative, which aims to support using artificial intelligence in teaching. She regularly works with kids in elementary school — her field is technology.
SLOVAKIA
Zuzana Molčanová - Microsoft - Education Industry Executive
Zuzana graduated in physics and computer science at FMFI UK in Bratislava. She taught physics and computer science for three years at a private primary school and also managed IT. She successfully managed to implement systems such as Office 365 or an electronic class book and an online student book at the school, which she also managed. She works as a manager of the education department for primary and secondary schools at Microsoft for Slovakia. It is dedicated to schools, teachers and students within the Educate for the Future initiative. It organizes conferences, workshops and webinars for teachers, where it also shows them the possibilities of using Microsoft technologies in teaching. She sees potential in the game Minecraft for educational purposes and that is why she has become one of the four certified coaches of the game Minecraft: Education Edition in Slovakia. He is pleased to be able to share his skills and experience, moving our teachers and students forward to see the potential for more effective work in technology. He believes that education should be available to anyone, anywhere, anytime.
Lenka Hlinková - Female algorithm
Lenka Hlinková motivates especially girls and women to work with technology. She is the author of the first Slovak motivational and educational book Female Algorithm. After 12 years of working in Tech in Slovakia and England, she founded the company Algoritmus, a year later a civic association named after the book, in which she and her team help mainly girls and women to gain their place in Tech and Management. She is a regular speaker as a Google Certified Trainer, provides corporate consultancy as a Diversity & Inclusion Consultant, startup coach for the Technicom Acceleration Center and external expert on Gender Diversity at the Slovak Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family.

The event is part of the celebrations of the International Day of Women and Girls in IT and it is supported by the Slovenian digital koalition, the Czech National Coalition for Digital Skills and Jobs (DigiKoalice), Digital Innovation Hub Slovenia and Digitálna Koalícia - Národná koalícia pre digitálne zručnosti a povolania SR.
