10th Anniversary Interact Conference
09:00 - 15:00
Cesta svobode 8, 4260 Bled
On 20 and 21 January, the 10th anniversary Interact Conference will take place at the Bled Rose Hotel, focusing on young people, their achievements, entrepreneurship, new technologies and professions, public speaking and financial literacy.
For the tenth year in a row, the Interact Conference brings together more than 100 young people aged 12 to 18 from Slovenia and North Macedonia, who are either members of an Interact club or primary or secondary school students, who want to socialise and hear something new.
The conference will be officially opened by the main organiser and Governor's Commissioner for Interact District 1912, Snežana Šuput Gulin. Then, Interact Clubs from Slovenia and North Macedonia will present the projects they have implemented in 2022, followed by a round table and an exchange of experiences and good practices with former Interact Club Presidents.
The young people have also been actively involved in the Rotary project GlassyClassy, which focuses on the abandonment of single-use plastics, so participants will learn about past actions linked to the project and plans for the future. They will also find out which international camps they can attend organised by Rotary International and what the eligibility requirements are.
This will be followed by "ice-breaking" workshops to bring young people closer and closer together, as the aim of the conference is also to forge new friendships.
On Sunday, welcoming speeches will be given by the Governors of District 1912, Slovenia and North Macedonia for 2022/2023, Rade Hristovski, and the Primus of District 1912 for Slovenia, Dusan Peterkovic.
The first lecture on Sunday will be dedicated to artificial intelligence, research and entrepreneurship by the speaker Maja Škrjanc, who works in the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Jožef Štefan Institute and has been leading various projects in different business fields, as well as trying her hand at entrepreneurship.
This will be followed by a lecture by Ana Pejić, Project Manager at the Digital Innovation Centre of Slovenia, who will present the professions of the present and the future, and reveal which human resources and skills will be most needed in Slovenia and Europe in the next decade.
Radko Luzar, a Rotarian and CEO of the fast-growing and successful company L- Tek, will talk to the young conference participants about his career and entrepreneurial experience.
Participants of the Interact Conference will also learn public speaking with presenter and Rotarian Boštjan Romih and learn about financial markets and the basics of investing with Iris Addaline from Valores.
As almost half of the participants are from North Macedonia, the conference will be held in English again this year.
